๐Ÿ‡ณ๐Ÿ‡ฌ Jigawa resettles farmers after 47-year border dispute

Jigawa State has resettled Nigerian farmers who were displaced by a long-running land dispute with a community across the border in Niger Republic.

The conflict began in 1979 between the Jobi community in Maigatari Local Government Area and the Kyalli community in the Zinder Region of Niger Republic, repeatedly disrupting agricultural activities for nearly five decades.

The resettlement marks the resolution of one of Nigeria's longest cross-border land disputes, restoring farming access to the affected Jigawa residents.
