NIGERIAN LEADERS AND EDUCATION!
Why do so many Nigerian politicians send their children abroad to study while millions of Nigerians are left with underfunded universities, strikes, poor facilities and an uncertain future? 🇳🇬💔

Just in recent months:

🎓 Nyesom Wike's son and daughter graduated from universities in the United Kingdom.
🎓 Governor Charles Soludo's daughter graduated with a First Class degree from the University of Nottingham in the UK.

This is not about attacking their children for succeeding. Every parent wants the best for their children.

The real question is:

If those in power believe Nigeria's universities are good enough, why do so many of them choose foreign universities for their own children?

Many of these same politicians had opportunities to improve education while serving in government. Yet Nigerian students continue to face overcrowded classrooms, inadequate funding, decaying infrastructure, brain drain and repeated disruptions to the academic calendar.

A nation cannot build world-class universities if its leaders have little confidence in the same institutions they ask ordinary citizens to rely on.

Imagine if presidents, governors, ministers, senators and lawmakers all enrolled their children in UNILAG, UNN, UI, ABU, UNIBEN, LASU, FUTA, UNIPORT and other Nigerian universities.

Would our tertiary institutions still be treated the way they are today?

🇳🇬 A country's education system reflects the priorities of its leaders.
