The Clever Boy

A boy who lived in a remote village was poor. The villagers mistakenly thought the boy was stupid. Some of the villagers would offer him two coins—a large silver coin and a smaller gold coin. Although the gold coin is physically smaller, it is worth two times as much money as the larger silver coin.Every time he was offered the two coins, he chose the silver coin, and everyone laughed, believing he wasn't smart.

One day, someone asked, "Don't you know the gold coin is worth more?"
The boy smiled and replied, "I know. But the day I choose the gold coin, they will stop offering me the coins and I will have just one gold coin. By choosing the silver coin, I have collected far more than the value of a single gold coin."

True wisdom is not always obvious. Sometimes, looking foolish in the eyes of others is the wisest decision in the long run.
