Netflix Renews Tyler Perry’s Beauty in Black for Fourth Season Ahead of Season Three Premiere.

Netflix has renewed Tyler Perry's hit drama series Beauty in Black for a fourth season, despite earlier indications that the forthcoming third season would conclude the Bellarie family saga. The surprise announcement comes months before the release of season three, underscoring the streaming platform's continued confidence in the series' popularity.

Confirming the renewal, Tyler Perry said the story of the Bellarie family still has more ground to cover. The creator, writer, producer and director expressed gratitude to viewers for supporting the series since its debut, noting that he remained eager to further explore the characters and their evolving storylines. He also assured fans that more episodes are on the way.

The renewal follows the show's impressive global performance on Netflix. According to the streaming giant, the first season spent seven weeks in its Global Top 10 rankings and reached the number one position in 28 countries. Season two also recorded strong success, remaining in the Global Top 10 for six weeks while topping the charts in 17 countries.

Unlike many streaming productions that often experience lengthy gaps between seasons, Beauty in Black has maintained a rapid production schedule. Since premiering in October 2024, the series has released 32 episodes, with the second season concluding in March 2026 after being split into two parts.

Although Netflix has yet to announce an official premiere date for season three, the platform revealed that the new instalment will centre on Kimmie as she finally earns a place within the powerful Bellarie family. However, a deadly internal conflict forces her into an uneasy alliance with Mallory as they navigate blackmail, revenge and long-buried secrets that threaten to destroy the family's empire.

The upcoming season will feature the return of Taylor Polidore Williams, Crystle Stewart, Amber Reign Smith, Xavier Smalls, Ricco Ross, Julian Horton, Steven G. Norfleet, Richard Lawson, Terrell Carter, Bryan Tanaka, Charles Malik Whitfield and Debbi Morgan. Netflix said additional details about season four, including its storyline and release schedule, will be announced at a later date.
