BREAKING!!! United States Of America President, Donald J. Trump's Ally Questions The Authenticity Of President Bola Tinubu's 16-Day Old Letter Claiming To Be From The American President; Declares That All Letters Of Commendation From Any USA President Are Usually Made Public Within 24 To 48 Hours To Maximise Impact; Vows To Escalate The Matter To Verify "Possible Forgery", As There Is No Image Of The Actual Document, Only Quotations From It, Which Is Very Suspicious
Emerging report reaching "Atiku Is For The People" global movement, on Thursday morning, indicates that a very close Ally to Donald J. Trump, the President of the United States of America, USA, Dr. Karl Von Batten, an American Political Strategist and International Affairs Commentator, has questioned the authenticity and timing of a letter President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s office released on Wednesday; arguing that the publicised Letter of Commendation to the Nigerian Leader was allegedly written by the USA President 16 days ago, which is not the norm.
His exact words on X: "Recall that President Tinubu (@officialABAT)'s office released what it "claims" is a letter from President @realDonaldTrump. The letter is dated July 6, 2026. Today is July 22, 2026.
“The purported letter is a full 16 days old. Why is President Tinubu releasing an old letter now? Nigerians and the world should ask that question.”
Dr. Batten noted further that the 16-day delay makes the release of the letter very suspicious, arguing that, in diplomacy, Letters of Commendation from a US President are usually made public within 24 to 48 hours, to maximize the impact. He added that holding it for over two weeks, then releasing it at a time “longstanding drug trafficking allegations concerning President Tinubu” are said to be before members of the White House and Congress, suggests that the move was more about public relations, than diplomacy.
“It seems that, with longstanding drug trafficking allegations concerning President Tinubu now before members of the @WhiteHouse and Congress, Tinubu is trying to convince Nigerians that President #Trump personally respects and endorses him”, Dr. Batten stated.
He also cast doubt on the document, itself, saying: “We are half expecting the @WhiteHouse to tell us that the letter is a fabrication, and that no such letter was sent, but the 'purported letter' speaks for itself. There is no image of the actual document, only quotations from it. Something does not add up.”
Even if the letter is real, Dr. Batten argues that it carries little or no weight at all.
He said: “Even if the letter is genuine and exists, it reads like a standard boilerplate diplomatic response prepared by White House staff in reply to correspondence from a foreign Head of State. Hundreds of similar diplomatic letters are sent every month.”
Nigerians can recall that this is not the first time we are seeing stage-managed optics from President Tinubu's administration.
The citizens vividly remember during the build-up to the 2023 elections, when the All Progressives Congress, APC, paraded regular people dressed as Bishops, just to create a false impression of Christian endorsement for President Bola Tinubu and his Muslim-Muslim ticket, ahead of the 2023 Presidential election.
In conclusion, Dr. Batten vowed to escalate the matter.
He stated: “We intend to forward the purported quotations from this 'unreleased letter' to our friends at the White House. We believe they will not take lightly any attempt by President #Tinubu to use this purported diplomatic letter to suggest that President Trump condones the longstanding heroin trafficking allegations concerning President #Tinubu. For the record, President #Trump has no tolerance for drug traffickers.”
