Eintracht Frankfurt picked Jay Jay Okocha as the headline figure for their 2026/27 away kit unveiling campaign.
The Super Eagles legend spent four seasons at the German club from 1992 to 1996, scoring 18 league goals in 90 appearances.
"Never gone.
Always Eintracht.
The official Away Jersey 2026/27!
#SGE" they wrote on their social media.
“It's a great honour for me to be able to present the away shirt for Eintracht – a beautiful and special one,” Jay Jay Okocha said.
“I never actually played all in white for Eintracht, but for me the colour is closely associated with the successes in the 70s and 80s, which were still very present when I arrived in Frankfurt. I did get to wear the particular eagle from that period, though. I owe a huge amount to the club. In Frankfurt, I learned everything I needed to become a professional player.
“We played the best and most attractive football in Germany at that time – ‘Fußball 2000'. We had a great team and a strong spirit, which I hope for the team this season too – with an incredibly nice away shirt!” he concluded.
Even after spells with Paris Saint-Germain, Bolton Wanderers and Hull City, Okocha's bond with Eintracht Frankfurt has remained strong, making him the perfect choice to headline the launch of the club's latest retro-inspired jersey.
