My NYSC CAMP EXPERIENCE.

I served in Maiduguri, Borno State during the Ali Modu Sherrif era.
Morning of the swearing in ceremony, while on the parade ground, a Man-O war staff walked up to me, and with a straight face asked me to follow him. No explanation, nothing.
For my mind, I revolted. Cursing, ranting and wondering what he was up to. However, I eased a bit when I noticed he did same to a few female corp members.
After his selection, he walked us towards an area a bit far from the crowd of corpers chatting away under the Maiduguri golden sun 🌞. My instant joy was the tree shades that welcomed us 😁
Shortly after, another Man O' war staff came with a few male corp members. That was when the purpose for our summons was revealed. We were going to perform a tug-of-war stunt.
The governor was expected to attend the ceremony and the ladies selected were the "Ali Modu Sherrif" gang, while the guys were the "NYSC Director" gang.
The agreement was that the guys were mandated to allow the ladies win.
Meanwhile, the ladies were within the range of chubby-Orobo 🥱. The guys on the other hand were made up of lanky skinny guys 😀
We did some rehearsals and waited to be called (don't forget, the god's favoured us to remain under the cool shade)
Sha, the moment of truth came, we filed out to the parade ground and did our stunts. ALI MODU SHERRIF gang won 💥🎉🎉🎉🎉
Baba was happy, all smiles 😁 (he didn't know it was all staged 🤣🤣)
Immediately, he announced a gift of 40k each to the ladies and 30k to the guys💥💥💥💥
True to his words, we were paid.
Camp was fun for me 😁
