⚖️ EU's 21st Russia Sanctions Package Targets 100+ Banks and Crypto Platforms
The European Union has approved its 21st sanctions package against Russia, with crypto operators now firmly in the crosshairs. Over 100 banks and crypto platforms have been hit, and the EU has gained new authority to ban crypto trades to entire countries found breaching Russian sanctions.
Eleven crypto platforms have been directly targeted under the new measures. The package marks a deliberate effort to close off alternative financial rails — including digital assets — that Russia could use to circumvent existing restrictions.
With blanket country-level crypto trade bans now on the table, the EU's enforcement toolkit just got significantly sharper.
