💼 Dangote Refinery raises $2.5bn in record equity deal

Dangote Petroleum Refinery and Petrochemicals has completed a $2.5 billion private equity placement — described as Africa's largest publicly disclosed primary equity private placement — to fund expansion and strengthen its capital structure.

The offering was oversubscribed by 3.7 times, reflecting strong investor demand. The company said proceeds will support its long-term growth strategy, including expansion into east Africa.

The transaction marks a major milestone for Nigeria's private sector and underscores continued investor interest in Africa's energy infrastructure.
