Prevention of Malaria

Malaria is a preventable disease, and taking simple precautions can greatly reduce your risk of infection. The most effective way to prevent malaria is to avoid mosquito bites by sleeping under an insecticide-treated mosquito net every night. You should also use mosquito repellents, wear long-sleeved clothing and trousers, especially from dusk to dawn when mosquitoes are most active, and ensure your doors and windows are fitted with screens or kept closed.

Keeping your environment clean is equally important. Drain stagnant water around your home, clear blocked gutters, cover water storage containers, and trim overgrown bushes where mosquitoes may breed or rest. If you develop symptoms such as fever, chills, or body aches, seek medical attention promptly for proper testing and treatment. Early prevention and timely care are key to reducing the spread and complications of malaria.
