A new United Nations report says Africa is now home to an estimated 309 million hungry people, despite a third consecutive year of global progress in reducing hunger. Nearly 67% of Africans also cannot afford a healthy diet.
The UN warned that conflict, climate shocks and shrinking humanitarian funding could leave up to 520 million people facing hunger by 2030 if urgent action is not taken.
