Super Eagles striker Kelechi Iheanacho has broken his silence over his decision to leave Scottish champions Celtic for Turkish second-division side Bursaspor, describing the club as a "big team."

The 29-year-old rejected a contract extension offer from Celtic — where he helped win a domestic double in the 2024/25 season — in favour of the surprise move to Turkey's second tier. Iheanacho completed the transfer last week.

The Nigerian forward has not elaborated further on the specific reasons behind turning down Celtic, but defended Bursaspor's stature as justification for the switch.
