Friends said to me:
These days you’re always focused on yourself.
And I smiled and gave them 5 reasons why I chose this version of me:
1. I was tired of being last on my own list.
I kept pouring into everyone else and coming home empty. That season is over.
2. Healing isn’t a group activity.
Some lessons I have to learn alone. Some wounds I have to sit with alone. And that’s okay.
3. My goals got louder than the distractions.
Dreams don’t chase themselves. If I want a different life, I have to build it — on purpose.
4. Peace became non-negotiable.
Drama, one-sided energy, begging people to choose me… I don’t have time. My peace is expensive now.
5. I realized self-love isn’t selfish.
You can’t give from an empty cup. Focusing on me first means I’ll have more to give later — but on healthy terms.
So yes, I’m focused on myself.
Not because I don’t love people.
But because I finally love myself too.
