🔐 Bitcoin and Ethereum-linked protocols lose $35M in coordinated attacks

Multiple crypto protocols connected to Bitcoin and Ethereum lost a combined $35 million in a series of attacks that struck within hours of each other.

The targeted protocols include Verus, B² Network, and other cross-chain systems. Attackers exploited compromised private keys, upgrade privileges, and flawed validation checks — bypassing security without breaking the underlying cryptography of Bitcoin or Ethereum themselves.

The incidents highlight a recurring vulnerability in bridge and cross-chain infrastructure: the weakest points are often off-chain access controls and admin key management, not the base-layer blockchains.
