In my opinion, this sets a troubling precedent. A sitting First Lady making a multi-billion-naira donation while publicly linking it to her husband’s possible re-election creates the impression of political campaigning and an attempt to influence voters.

Public office should never blur the line between governance and electioneering. At the very least, there should be transparency about the source of such funds and a clear separation between official engagements and political messaging.
