Trump's Letter to Tinubu Shows Nigeria's Reforms Are Working -Presidency.
The Presidency has said that a recent letter from United States President Donald Trump to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is a strong indication that Nigeria's ongoing economic reforms are gaining international recognition and restoring investor confidence.
Presidential spokesman Bayo Onanuga said the correspondence reflects growing confidence among global partners in the Tinubu administration's policy direction, particularly its efforts to stabilise the economy, improve the investment climate and reposition Nigeria as a competitive destination for foreign capital.
According to the Presidency, the letter underscores the positive impact of reforms introduced over the past year, including measures aimed at strengthening fiscal discipline, attracting foreign direct investment and expanding opportunities for private sector participation. It added that international partners are increasingly acknowledging Nigeria's commitment to economic transformation.
The Presidency maintained that while the reforms have imposed short-term challenges on citizens, they are designed to lay the foundation for sustainable growth, job creation and long-term macroeconomic stability. It stressed that the government remains committed to implementing policies that will deliver broad-based economic benefits.
Officials also argued that renewed engagement from major global powers demonstrates that Nigeria's economic outlook is improving and that confidence in the country's leadership is steadily increasing.
They noted that the administration would continue to deepen diplomatic and economic partnerships to support national development objectives.
