Super Eagles forward Kelechi Iheanacho has opened up on his decision to join Turkish club Bursaspor, revealing that the club’s ambitious project convinced him to make the move.

The 29-year-old striker completed a move to Bursaspor after leaving Celtic, with the Turkish side looking to secure promotion back to the top flight.

Bursaspor, who recently returned to the second tier after winning promotion from the third division, have made promotion to the Turkish Super League their major objective.

Speaking about his decision to join the club, Iheanacho explained that Bursaspor’s history and future plans played a major role in his choice.

“Bursaspor is a big team in Turkey. I heard they won the Turkish Super League before. When I hear the project they have and how they want to go all the way to the Super League and to play in Europe as well, I said this is a big project and it's very good for me to come and be involved and help the team,” Iheanacho told the club's media.
