BREAKING | Black Tuesday in Omoku: OSPAC Commander, Three Women Feared Dead
A dark cloud has once again descended over Omoku, headquarters of Ogba/Egbema/Ndoni Local Government Area (ONELGA), following reports that Omoku Zone OSPAC Commander, Comrade Ozoemela Stephen Wokocha, was allegedly shot dead alongside three women by unidentified gunmen on Tuesday, 21st July 2026.
The tragic incident, which has sent shockwaves across Ali-Ogba, was reported by multiple credible local sources. As of the time of this publication, authorities are expected to provide further details as investigations continue.
This heartbreaking development has reopened painful memories of the dark years when Omoku and parts of ONELGA witnessed persistent violent attacks that claimed many innocent lives and left families in fear. It was during that difficult period that the Organized Security, Peace and Advisory Committee (OSPAC) emerged as a community-based security outfit, with many residents crediting its efforts for contributing to improved security and restoring confidence in several communities.
Today, Ali-Ogba mourns yet another painful loss.
Ogba Heritage TV extends its deepest condolences to the families of the late Comrade Ozoemela Stephen Wokocha and the three women who also reportedly lost their lives in this tragic attack. We pray that God grants them eternal rest and gives their loved ones the strength to bear this painful loss.
We respectfully call on the Rivers State Government, ONELGA Local Government Council, the Nigeria Police, and all relevant security agencies to carry out a thorough investigation, ensure those responsible are identified and brought to justice, and take urgent steps to strengthen security across Omoku and the wider ONELGA area.
This tragedy also reminds us that those who risk their lives daily to protect our communities deserve adequate support, welfare, training, and operational resources.
Now, more than ever, Ali-Ogba must remain united. We urge residents to remain calm, avoid spreading unverified information, and cooperate with security agencies as investigations continue.
May the souls of the departed rest in perfect peace. May God comfort their families. And may peace once again prevail across Omoku and all of Ali-Ogba. ๐๏ธ
