I don't think either situation should be the standard.
A husband who provides financially is fulfilling an important responsibility, but faithfulness is also a form of provision. Infidelity doesn't just break trust—it can expose a spouse to sexually transmitted infections (STIs) such as HIV, gonorrhea, syphilis, and hepatitis B, as well as emotional trauma, anxiety, and depression.
On the other hand, a faithful husband who is unwilling to work or take responsibility isn't ideal either. Love alone doesn't put food on the table. However, there's a difference between a man who refuses to work and one who is hardworking, responsible, and simply going through a difficult season.
A healthy marriage shouldn't force anyone to choose between provision and faithfulness. A family deserves both—a partner who works diligently to provide and one who protects their health through loyalty.

May the Lord continue to provide for all of us men so that we will be able to provide for our homes in Jesus name.#Amen
