2034 World Cup May Be Pushed to 2035 Over Saudi Heat Concerns

FIFA is facing a scheduling dilemma over the 2034 World Cup in Saudi Arabia, with reports suggesting the tournament could be delayed until 2035 to avoid the country's extreme summer heat.

Saudi Arabia was confirmed as host after Australia withdrew from the bidding process. While a winter schedule — similar to Qatar 2022 — had been widely anticipated, the scale of the challenge may require an even more drastic solution.

Moving the tournament to 2035 would represent an unprecedented shift in the World Cup calendar, which has traditionally been held every four years.
