The Great Power Bank Heist

Tunde had one job. ONE job.

His elder brother was traveling and said, "Please just keep my power bank charged. Don't use it. It's 30,000mAh, it's basically our family generator."

Tunde said, "No problem."

For two days, he was a saint. He didn't touch it. He even dusted it.

On day three, NEPA did what NEPA does best. Light went off. His own power bank was at 2%. His phone was at 5%. And he was right in the middle of an argument in the family WhatsApp group where he was WINNING.

Principles left his body.

He plugged in. "Just 10%," he told himself.

That 10% turned into 90 minutes of scrolling, two YouTube videos, one video call, and him using his phone torchlight to look for his charger in the dark.

When light finally came back, he remembered his brother's power bank. He ran to check it. 0%.

Panic.

He charged it back immediately, but the thing was so big it was charging like it was on dialysis. Slow. Too slow.

His brother's bus was already approaching.

Tunde had an idea. A brilliant, stupid idea.

He wrapped the power bank in a towel, put it back exactly how his brother left it, and prayed that his brother would be too tired to check.

His brother entered, dropped his bag, looked at Tunde, looked at the power bank, picked it up...

And said, "Thanks for keeping it safe."

Tunde almost confessed everything from his childhood till date.

Then his brother added, "Though I don't know why you left it in the fridge."

The fridge.

He had put it in the FRIDGE in his panic, thinking it would charge faster if it was cool.

He is still explaining that one till today. #lekeleeke
