Signs & Symptoms of Malaria

Malaria doesn't always start with severe symptoms. In many cases, it begins like a common illness, which is why it's important to pay attention to the warning signs.

The most common symptoms include fever, chills, headache, body aches, tiredness, sweating, loss of appetite, nausea, and vomiting. Some people may also experience abdominal pain or diarrhea.

If left untreated, malaria can become severe and lead to confusion, difficulty breathing, seizures, or even loss of consciousness, especially in young children and pregnant women.

If you or someone around you develops a fever after a mosquito bite or after spending time in a malaria-prone area, don't ignore it. Visit the nearest healthcare facility for proper testing and treatment. Early diagnosis can prevent serious complications and save lives.
