Your Excellency President Tinubu and First Lady Senator Oluremi Tinubu, Governors in the 36 states 774 LGA, opposition parties, independent candidates, courts, efcc 240 million Nigerians are
writing to express deep concern regarding the recent allocation of ₦2 billion of public funds toward the promotion of Akwete fabric. While cultural preservation is important, many Nigerians believe that such a significant amount of taxpayer money should be directed toward urgent national priorities that affect all 36 states and 774 local government areas.
Nigeria continues to face critical challenges in education, healthcare, and food security. Millions of Nigerians lack access to quality schools, free hospitals, and affordable medical care. Many communities still struggle with inadequate infrastructure, limited agricultural investment, and insufficient support for farmers. These are areas where public funds can create broad, measurable, and equitable impact across the entire nation.
We respectfully demand your administration to prioritize:
Building new schools and expanding free education up to the PhD level
Constructing and funding free, modern hospitals accessible to all Nigerians
Investing heavily in farming and agricultural development across all states and LGAs
Ensuring that public funds are used transparently and equitably, without favoring one region over others
Additionally, many Nigerians believe that the Office of the First Lady should not have direct access to taxpayer funds for discretionary spending. Public resources must be managed with strict accountability and in alignment with national development goals.
There is growing public demand for stronger ethical leadership and responsible governance. Recent events in other countries, such as the resignation of the UK Prime Minister over corruption concerns, demonstrate the importance of accountability at the highest levels of government.
We demand you to listen to the voices of Nigerians who are demanding for change, transparency, and responsible stewardship of public funds.
