World Cup Final Draws Record 62.8 Million Viewers in the United States
The FIFA World Cup final between Spain and Argentina drew 62.8 million viewers in the U.S., making it the most-watched World Cup final and soccer telecast in American history.
Fox's English-language broadcast averaged 38.9 million viewers — up 132% from the 2022 final — while Telemundo and Peacock added 23.9 million for Spanish-language coverage, a 166% increase.
The U.S. men's team drove record audiences throughout the tournament. Their quarter-final loss to Belgium peaked at 37.2 million on Fox and 12.9 million on Telemundo — over 50 million combined.
Streaming accounted for nearly half of Telemundo's World Cup audience, up from 30% in 2022. Fox One added an estimated 2.8 million new subscribers in June alone — more than 2.5 times its previous monthly record.
FIFA is expected to open media rights bidding for the 2030 World Cup on the back of the tournament's commercial success.
