An 18-year-old Nigerian artist who began sketching in an exercise book during the COVID-19 lockdown now sells charcoal portraits to clients in Australia and beyond, crediting AI tools on the Nigeria Learning Passport (NLP) for helping him turn a childhood pastime into a paying career.

Best Omoyele's work today hangs on walls thousands of kilometres from his home, a leap he says would have seemed impossible just two years ago, when he had no clear plan for his talent beyond filling pages with faces.
