⚽ Italy in talks with Guardiola despite significant hurdle

The Italian Football Federation (FIGC) have confirmed they are in discussions with Pep Guardiola over the national team manager role, just two months after his departure from Manchester City.

FIGC chief Gabriele Gravina acknowledged the talks but admitted a major obstacle remains — Guardiola's Spanish nationality, which under Italian federation rules could complicate the appointment of a non-Italian as Azzurri head coach.

Guardiola left City at the end of last season after nine trophy-laden years and has been linked with several high-profile roles since.
