Your growth will cost you some people.
This is one of the hardest truths about life.
Not because those people are always bad.
But because not everyone is meant to walk with you forever.
Some people know the version of you that settled.
The version that tolerated disrespect.
The version that was afraid to dream bigger.
The moment you begin to change, they become uncomfortable.
They call your boundaries pride.
Your discipline, arrogance.
Your growth, betrayal.
They preferred the old you because the old you never challenged them.
But growth demands sacrifice.
You cannot keep holding hands with people who are pulling you backward while praying for God to move you forward.
Some friendships expire.
Some relationships complete their assignment.
Some conversations need to end.
Some environments no longer deserve your presence.
That doesn’t mean you hate them.
It simply means you’ve chosen peace over chaos, purpose over pressure, and progress over familiarity.
Not everyone will celebrate your transformation.
Some will miss the version of you they could control, manipulate, or take for granted.
And that’s okay.
A tree doesn’t apologize for shedding leaves in the season they’re no longer needed. It lets them fall so new life can emerge.
Maybe the people you’re struggling to let go of are the very weight keeping you from becoming who you’re meant to be.
Growth isn’t just about gaining new opportunities.
Sometimes it’s about having the courage to release old attachments.
Read that again.
For you to grow, some people have to go.
Not because they are evil.
Not because you are better.
But because your next chapter requires different company.
Protect your peace.
Guard your purpose.
And never feel guilty for choosing the life you’re growing into.
Have you ever had to let go of someone not because you hated them, but because you wanted to become a better version of yourself?

Not everyone who challenges you is resisting your
