🇳🇬🇬 Flying Eagles Arrive Côte d’Ivoire for WAFU B U20 Championship
Nigeria’s U20 national team, the Flying Eagles, have arrived in Yamoussoukro, Côte d’Ivoire, ahead of the 2026 WAFU B U20 Championship, which gets underway this weekend.
The defending champions landed in Abidjan on Monday before making the journey by road to Yamoussoukro, where they are camped at the Trio Corridor Hotel as they complete preparations for the tournament.
The Flying Eagles will begin their title defence on Monday with a highly anticipated clash against Ghana’s Black Satellites at the Lycée Scientifique Stadium. The fixture rekindles the rivalry from the previous edition, where Nigeria defeated Ghana 2-1 in the final to lift the trophy.
Coach Abdu Maikaba’s side will then face Togo’s Sparrow Hawks on Thursday before rounding off the group stage against Burkina Faso’s Young Stallions on Sunday, 2 August.
All eyes will be on the seven-time African champions as they aim to retain their regional crown and continue their impressive record in youth football. 🇳🇬🏆
