Troops Rescue Kidnap Victims, Seize 10 Motorcycles from Terrorist Suppliers.

Troops of Operation FANSAN YAMMA have sustained aggressive operations against terrorists in the North West, recording fresh successes on 19 and 20 July 2026.

On 20 July 2026, troops responded swiftly to a distress call from residents of Shiyan Abiyola in Kaura Namoda Local Government Area of Zamfara State, where terrorists were attempting to abduct civilians.

The prompt intervention forced the terrorists to flee, enabling the successful rescue of several residents. Troops subsequently dominated the area to prevent further attacks.

On 19 July 2026, troops on patrol in Faskari Local Government Area of Katsina State rescued three kidnapped victims who had escaped from their captors during a heavy downpour.

The victims, abducted on 14 July while working on their farms in Tsafe Local Government Area of Zamfara State, have been handed over to the relevant authorities for reunification with their families.

In a separate operation on the same day in Kebbi State, troops intercepted a vehicle conveying ten motorcycles suspected to be destined for terrorist groups.

Four suspects believed to be awaiting delivery of the motorcycles were arrested. The suspects and the recovered motorcycles remain in custody for further investigation.

The Theatre Command commends the troops for their vigilance, professionalism, and decisive action in denying terrorists freedom of action.

The Command appreciates members of the public for their continued support and timely intelligence, and urges citizens to remain vigilant and report suspicious activities to security agencies.
