LIFE IN OBEDIENCE

Matthew 19:16-17 ESV
[16] And behold, a man came up to him, saying, "Teacher, what good deed must I do to have eternal life?" [17] And he said to him, "Why do you ask me about what is good? There is only one who is good. If you would enter life, keep the commandments."

When you understand the things of life, you will discover that it runs by principles and instructions. You cannot live outside the fundamental principles of life. Any attempt to do otherwise will lead to a miserable life. As an example, you cannot produce fruits from a seed when it is not sown inside the ground.
John 12:24 KJV
Verily, verily, I say unto you, Except a corn of wheat fall into the ground and die, it abideth alone: but if it die, it bringeth forth much fruit.
You cannot bypass a principle and get any desirable result no matter what.
Jesus said that if a man will have life, he will have to obey the commandment. Life can only be accessed by following the laid down principles of life by the creator of life. Any other principle from any other source will never give life but alternatives. This is the undoing of men in our days where the crisis in the world originates from people devising other means of life according to human standard which has brought so much untold hardship to humanity. No matter how good a principle is, it can never stand the results that the principles of God will produce. Therefore, your obedience to God will produce the life of God for and in you. God placed life inside obedience. The more you obey, the better life you get and when your obedience is complete or perfect, you also get a perfect and complete life.
Do not deceive yourself, your disobedience to the word of God will never make you amount to anything. The big question you should ask is, what has become of those that disobeyed God? How better has life been by living in disobedience? The truth is when these and some other questions are answered with sincerity, you will understand that there is life in obedience. This is why David said that from his youth up till his adulthood, he has never seen a man who is obedient becoming stranded.
Psalm 37:25 KJV
I have been young, and now am old; yet have I not seen the righteous forsaken, nor his seed begging bread.
Job also said the same thing even when he was going through his challenging moment.
Job 4:7 KJV
Remember, I pray thee, who ever perished, being innocent? or where were the righteous cut off?
Job said that he has not seen a man that is innocent perish. It means that when you are law abiding and you do not have reasons why you will be accused, you will never perish.
Beloved, obedience to God does not add value to God but to men. Your honour of God's principle will only benefit you and not God because there is life in obedience.
