๐ณ๐ฌ Nigeria urges AU to crack down on terror financing
Nigeria's federal government has called on the African Union to intensify action against illicit financial flows, describing them as a primary driver of terrorism and violent extremism across the continent.
Abuja told the AU that blocking such funds is critical to Africa's security, urging the bloc to strengthen coordinated measures targeting the financial networks that sustain armed groups.
Nigeria has long faced insurgency from groups including Boko Haram and ISWAP in the northeast, giving the country a direct stake in continental efforts to cut off terrorist financing.
