NDC ENUGU: FROM CONCERN TO STRATEGY, FROM STRATEGY TO VICTORY

My fellow lovers of democracy, great stakeholders, executives, aspirants and candidates of the Nigeria Democratic Congress.

This is not a complaint. This is a strategic reflection and a message of hope.

INEC has set the pace. The road map is clear:
Presidential / NASS Campaign: 19th August 2026
Governorship / State Assembly Campaign: 9th September 2026
Election Day: 16th January & 6th February 2027

We have less than 14 months. In politics, 14 months is enough to build a victorious movement if we act with wisdom and unity today.

MY OBSERVATION AS A PARTY MAN

I have observed with deep concern that NDC is not trending in Enugu State like it was before 29th May primary. This is normal in party politics after primaries. There is always a post-primary slowdown. But great parties do not stay in slowdown, they re-strategize.

I have also heard what some Nigerians are saying on the streets of Enugu. That some candidates are APC placeholders, that some want to use the people's trust to enrich themselves. Whether true or not, this perception is a political signal. It tells us we need more engagement, more transparency, and more grassroots presence.

So let us turn concern into strategy.

A STRATEGIC CAUTION AND A CALL TO ALL ASPIRANTS AND CANDIDATES

To all our aspirants and all our candidates who NDC has trusted with our tickets to contest against the ruling APC, this is a moment for honest self-assessment that will strengthen our party:

1. What is your Plan? Victory does not come by wish. It comes by plan. What is your clear plan for your polling unit, your ward, your LGA?

2. What is your Capacity? Beyond ambition, what is your capacity in terms of structure, message, team, and grassroots connection to make supporters of Nigeria Democratic Congress proud?

3. What is your Message of Hope? Nigerians are looking for hope. What solution are you offering that will reconnect NDC to the market woman, the student, the worker, the farmer?

MY POSITIVE ROADMAP FOR VICTORY IN 2027

If we want to trend again and win, let us do what winning parties do:

1. Re-activate our Structures: Every aspirant and candidate should have verifiable ward coordinators and polling unit ambassadors. That is where election is won.

2. Unify our Message: Let Abuja and Enugu State leadership give us one clear, positive message of renewal and good governance that all aspirants and candidates will speak.

3. Reconnect to the Grassroots: Let us return to town halls, churches, markets and campuses with respect and listening ears. Visibility creates trust.

4. Strengthen Internal Democracy: Let us reassure members with openness in how we screen and support our aspirants and candidates. Transparency kills rumour.

5. Support our Foot Soldiers: A party is as strong as its supporters. Let us encourage and support every lover of democracy who is working for NDC.

FINAL WORD OF HOPE

We must now ask our leaders not just questions, but critical and strategic questions that will bring solutions. Our leaders in Abuja at the national level and our leaders at the state level should help we the members understand the next phase and how we will rebuild the momentum we had before 29th May.

I have no doubt in my mind. NDC has the people. NDC has the vision. What we need now is unity, early preparation, and positive action.

To all aspirants, candidates, stakeholders and executives, be encouraged. The future is bright if we work together now.

Let us make NDC trend again in Enugu for the right reasons. Let us make it a movement of hope and victory for all.

Victory is possible. Victory is ahead. Let us go and claim it together.
