One of the greatest hypocrisies in human discourse is our unwillingness to call a spade a spade. Instead of confronting flaws as matters of character, we hide them behind gender, religion, race, or ethnicity. In doing so, we unfairly assign personal failings to entire groups and end up polluting the very beauty that diversity was meant to reveal.

Character has no gender, tribe, race, or religion. Virtue and vice belong to individuals. Until we learn to judge actions for what they are, rather than the labels attached to the people who commit them, we will continue to divide ourselves over the wrong things.
