Current StatusThe Backlash against VDM:
Multiple civil society organisations—including the Centre for Human and Socio-Economic Rights (CHSR) and the South West Youth Alliance (SWYA)—have strongly defended AIG Jimoh. They have dismissed VDM’s claims as a baseless "trial by social media," stating that official documents perfectly align with the police’s actions. AIG Jimoh has stated he will not engage in social media debates over an active court case and challenged anyone with actual evidence to bring it to the courtroom.

The Court Proceedings:
Ahmed Ajiran's trial is currently active. He was recently remanded to the Ikoyi Custodial Centre by the Lagos State High Court. His appearance has faced delays due to severe health issues, prompting him to be brought to court in an ambulance during recent June 2026 hearings.
