One phone call I will never forget.

I called HR to ask about my application.

"Oh... that role?"

"Yes."

"It was filled last week."

"But the deadline is next Friday."

"We found the right candidate."

That was the day I stopped waiting until deadlines before applying.

Companies hire when they find the right person and not when the calendar says they should.
