Tinubu appoints Fayose REA chairman, names 25 others to federal boards, agencies.

President Bola Tinubu has approved the appointment of 26 individuals into the boards and leadership of 10 Federal Government agencies and commissions, with former Ekiti State Governor, Ayo Fayose, named Chairman of the Rural Electrification Agency (REA).

The appointments, which take immediate effect, were announced in a statement issued on Monday by the President's Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga.

According to the statement, Fayose will chair the REA board alongside Ahmadu Abubakar and Ilyasu Makinta, who were appointed as members and non-executive directors. The board also includes the agency's Director-General, Abba Aliyu, and three previously appointed executive directors.

President Tinubu also appointed Major General Junaid Bindawa (Rtd.) as Chairman of the National Salaries, Incomes and Wages Commission. Former federal lawmaker, Olajumoke Okoya-Thomas, was named Secretary of the commission, while Ogbole Lilian, Oladele Olatubosun and Yakubu Barde were appointed commissioners representing Benue, Oyo and Kaduna states, respectively. Other members include Mai Adamu Yau, Ginika Tor, Lawrence Okoh and Bello Iyabode.

In a related development, Tosin Adeyanju, who was earlier appointed Executive Secretary of the National Lottery Trust Fund (NLTF), has been reassigned as Secretary of the Revenue Mobilisation Allocation and Fiscal Commission (RMAFC).

The President also approved the appointment of Abuh Mohammed as Director-General of the National Population Commission (NPC), Akinola Odeyemi as Managing Director of the Nigerian Bulk Electricity Trading Plc (NBET), and Anthony Godwin as Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of the Nigeria Atomic Energy Commission.

Also appointed was Julius Oloro as Chief Executive Officer of the National Centre for Agricultural Mechanisation (NCAM), succeeding the late A.R. Kamal. Tinubu further constituted the board of the Fiscal Responsibility Commission with Abdullahi Saidu as Chairman, alongside Mohammed Asmau, Mohammed Makama, Suleiman Gidado, Louis O. Ndukwe, Amaechi Ugwele and Olaniyi Onikola as members.

Additionally, Shuni Dahiru was appointed Executive Secretary of the National Commission for Mass Literacy, Adult and Non-Formal Education, replacing Shu'aibu Aliyu, who was earlier redeployed to the Petroleum Trust Development Fund (PTDF).

The President also named Gisaor Vincent Iorja as Executive Director (Finance) of the Federal Housing Authority (FHA), replacing Mathias Byuan, who resigned to pursue the Benue State governorship race. Iorja currently serves as Secretary of the Benue State Independent Electoral Commission (BSIEC).

The Presidency said all the appointments are effective immediately, describing them as part of the administration's efforts to strengthen governance, improve institutional efficiency and enhance service delivery across key federal agencies.
