These bribe-taking policemen, who usually harrass and forcefully extort money from motorists daily, finally delivered themselves and their careers to the anti-corruption czar for N53,000. The day a criminal meets their Waterloo is never foretold; some even end up in the belly of a python. The ICPC Chairman played along with them, and they were thrilled to have extorted the money from him. Now they will wish they had simply ask for vehicle particulars instead and behave like Caesar's wife, remaining completely above suspicion. For these ones, it is too late. There's no second chance in life to undo certain actions.

"The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command has detained four police officers over allegations that they extorted ₦53,000 from the Chairman of the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC), Dr. Musa Aliyu (SAN), during an unauthorised stop-and-search operation in Abuja.
According to the commissioner, preliminary investigations indicate that the officers allegedly abandoned their assigned duty posts, converged around the Banex area in Wuse, and set up an illegal checkpoint where they reportedly extorted money from motorists.
Sanusi alleged that the officers stopped Dr. Aliyu without recognising him and compelled him to withdraw ₦53,000 through a Point of Sale (POS) terminal, in addition to paying the associated transaction charges, before allegedly sharing the money among themselves."

Is high time we sanitize this country of corrupt police officers.
