๐Ÿ‡ณ๐Ÿ‡ฌ ECOWAS Signs Deal for $25bn Nigeria-Morocco Pipeline

West African heads of state signed an Intergovernmental Agreement on Sunday backing the $25 billion Nigeria-Morocco African Atlantic Gas Pipeline at an ECOWAS summit held in Freetown, Sierra Leone.

The agreement commits ECOWAS member states to the construction of the pipeline, which would link Nigeria's gas fields to Morocco and potentially to Europe. "We have already signed the West Africa-Morocco gas pipeline," said ECOWAS chair Julius Maada Bio. "Don't be surprised when the gas comes your way."

The project is one of the largest energy infrastructure initiatives on the continent, designed to expand gas access across West Africa while connecting the region to international markets.
