Lagos Consumer Agency Moves to Outlaw "No Return, No Refund" Policies

The Lagos State Consumer Protection Agency (LASCOPA) has vowed to crack down on businesses using "No return, No refund, No replacement" and "No cancellation after payment" policies to shortchange customers.

Afolabi Solebo, LASCOPA's General Manager/Chief Executive Officer, said such policies cannot override consumer rights guaranteed under applicable protection laws, particularly in cases involving defective, unsafe, or misrepresented goods, or products that fail to serve the purpose disclosed to sellers before purchase.
