Spain lifted the FIFA World Cup trophy for the second time in their history 🏆🇪🇸

Andrés Iniesta in 2010 and now Ferran Torres in 2026: Two golden moments that secured Spain their two World Cup trophies.

Ferran Torres is the first player in 16 years to score a goal in a World Cup final for Spain. It was also his first goal of the #FIFAWC2026 . He was the final winner of the "Man of the Match" trophy of the tournament.

“I got criticised many times but the destiny gives beautiful things to those who deserve... It’s not my goal; it’s from 47M of Spanish fans” he said post-match.

Ferran Torres' goal made him only the second substitute ever to score a World Cup final winner, after Germany's Mario Gotze in 2014, which also came against Argentina.

Argentina have finished as World Cup runners-up for a fourth time, the joint-most of any nation along with Germany.

They became the first team in World Cup final history not to register a single shot in 90 minutes with their first attempt arriving from Lionel Messi in the 116th minute.

Enzo Fernandez's red card makes him the sixth player ever sent off in a World Cup final, and remarkably, three of those six have now been Argentine, joining Pedro Monzon and Gustavo Dezotti from 1990.

Spain didn't trail a single minute this entire World Cup.

They join Italy 1938, Italy 1982 and Germany 1990 as the only teams to win the tournament without ever going behind.
