๐ฅ THEY DON'T WAIT FOR THE POLICE ANYMORE.
A scream. A finger pointed. A rumor that catches fire.
And suddenly, a human being is burning in the street while a crowd films it for TikTok.
Welcome to Nigeria's new normal where the jungle has replaced the courtroom, and the mob has become judge, jury, and executioner.
But ask yourself: WHY?
Why are more Nigerians resorting to jungle justice?
Because they've seen thieves walk free after "settling" the police. Because they've watched corruption cases dissolve into endless adjournments. Because when they report a crime, they're asked for "fuel money" first.
When justice is sold to the highest bidder, the poor stop knocking on its door. They build their own.
Here's the terrifying part:
"Innocent until proven guilty" is dying.
Today it's a phone thief. Tomorrow it's your brother who argued with the wrong person. Next week, it's you at the wrong place, wrong time, with no court to hear your truth.
Jungle justice doesn't fight crime. It fuels it.
Justice is not a burning tire in the street.
If we lose that truth, we lose everything.
