๐ณ๐ฌ Nigeria launches scheme to double grain output to 25m tonnes
The federal government and the Bank of Agriculture (BOA) have launched the Renewed Hope Smallholder Agricultural Financing Programme, targeting a more than doubling of Nigeria's grain production to 25 million tonnes.
The scheme is designed to provide financing to smallholder farmers across the country, with the BOA serving as the primary implementing institution in partnership with federal agencies.
The initiative forms part of the government's broader Renewed Hope agenda to boost domestic food production and reduce Nigeria's dependence on food imports amid persistent inflation.
