A dramatic recreation of finding out annual returns exist:

Scene 1 — The Discovery.
Friend: "Have you filed your annual returns with CAC?"

Nigerian Business Owner: "My annual what?"

Nigerian Business Owner: "Okay. What do I do?"

Us: "File everything outstanding. Clear the penalties. Get back into good standing."

Nigerian Business Owner: "Can you handle it?"

Us: "That's literally what we do."

Nigerian Business Owner: "Why didn't anyone tell me about this when I registered?"

Us: "We're telling you now."

Us: "Exactly."
