World Cup: Anyone Who Knows Football Very Well Should Easily Predict That Spain Will Beat Argentina Today- Keyamo

Nigeria's Minister of Aviation, Festus Keyamo, has backed Spain to defeat Argentina in the 2026 FIFA World Cup final, while admitting that Lionel Messi could still change the outcome with a moment of brilliance.

In a post shared on X handle handle on Sunday, July 19, 2026, Keyamo said Spain should be considered the favourites based on their performances and overall quality.

However, he noted that Messi's ability to produce decisive moments means Argentina cannot be written off despite Spain's strong credentials.

"Anyone who knows football very well should easily predict that Spain will beat Argentina today to win the World Cup. Unless there is an exceptional moment of magic by one ‘little boy from Rosario’ called Lionel Messi," Keyamo wrote.

The World Cup final will be played on Sunday, July 19, 2026, at the MetLife Stadium, officially known for the tournament as the New York New Jersey Stadium, in East Rutherford, New Jersey.

Kick-off is scheduled for 3:00 p.m. Eastern Time, with millions of football fans expected to watch the match between two of the world's strongest national teams.

Argentina head into the final as defending champions and are hoping to become only the third country to win consecutive FIFA World Cup titles.

The South Americans have overcome several difficult tests on their way to the final, including comeback victories over England and Egypt in the knockout stages.

Spain, meanwhile, are chasing their second World Cup crown after winning the tournament for the first time in 2010.

Under head coach Luis de la Fuente, the Spanish side has impressed throughout the competition with its possession-based football and solid defensive record, conceding just one goal on the road to the final.

The match also offers fans the opportunity to witness a symbolic meeting between two generations of football stars, with 39-year-old Lionel Messi set to face 19-year-old Spanish sensation Lamine Yamal for the first time in a competitive fixture.
