If You Don’t Have Money, Don’t Get Married. Don’t Try it, I Beg You- Jarvis

Nigerian TikTok content creator Amadou Elizabeth Aminata, popularly known as Jarvis, has advised young people to avoid rushing into marriage without achieving a reasonable level of financial stability.

The social media personality shared the advice as preparations continue for her forthcoming white wedding to fellow TikTok star Peller.

Speaking during a recent livestream, Jarvis stressed that couples should not allow pressure from family, friends or society to push them into marriage before they are financially prepared.

According to her, inadequate financial planning can make wedding preparations unnecessarily difficult and place avoidable strain on intending couples.

She also suggested a practical approach for those concerned about the high cost of weddings.

Rather than organising both traditional and white weddings within a short period, she recommended spacing the ceremonies across different years to reduce financial pressure and allow couples enough time to prepare adequately.

"If you don’t have money, don’t get married. Don’t try it, I beg you. But if you are planning of getting married, you can share it by doing traditional wedding this year and do the white wedding the next year," Jarvis said.

Jarvis explained that wedding expenses can become overwhelming, noting that even with careful planning, couples may still feel unprepared.

She disclosed that she and Peller had at one point considered postponing their white wedding because of the challenges involved in organising the event.

Despite those concerns, the couple ultimately decided to proceed with their plans.

Jarvis indicated that waiting indefinitely would not necessarily eliminate the demands associated with planning a successful ceremony, making it important to work within available resources instead of seeking perfection.

The comments come weeks after Jarvis and Peller celebrated their traditional wedding in Benin City, Edo State.

The pair had earlier announced that their white wedding is scheduled to take place on August 1, 2026, with fans eagerly anticipating the ceremony.
