Your Excellencies President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Vice President Kashim Shettima, Senate President Godswill Akpabio, All 36 State Governors, and Chairpersons of the 774 Local Government Areas,240 million Nigerians write to you out of deep concern shared by millions of Nigerians who continue to endure worsening hardship, insecurity, and a collapse of basic public services. For decades, administrations past and present—across political parties, opposition groups, independent candidates, and even institutions tasked with accountability—have failed to address the root causes of Nigeria’s suffering.

240 million Nigerians are asking why government officials and political actors appear more focused on mismanaging or diverting public funds instead of solving the most basic problems refuse management, sanitation, clean water, food security, and safety in all 36 states and 774 LGAs.

Nigeria’s environmental crisis is worsening. Indiscriminate dumping of refuse, poor waste evacuation, and scarcity of potable water have created severe health hazards. Even professional bodies such as the Nigeria Association of Women Journalists (NAWOJ) have raised alarm over the deteriorating conditions in Kogi State and beyond. These issues are not isolated—they reflect a nationwide failure.

We demand urgent action to address the root causes of insecurity, including boko haram. Thousands of children kidnapped since 1999 remain missing. Their families continue to suffer without answers or justice.

We also reject temporary handouts such as akara, bread, corn, rice, and beans. Nigerians are asking for sustainable solutions, not short-term relief. We demand that all stolen public funds be recovered and invested directly into farming and food production so that Nigeria can become food sufficient.

We further call for the installation of CCTV cameras and drones across all 36 states and 774 LGAs to strengthen security and deter crime. Citizens deserve free housing, new hospitals, modern schools, and free education up to the PhD level. We demand reliable electricity and free public Wi-Fi/data—promises made for decades but never fulfilled.

240 million Nigerians no longer trust government institutions, including the courts and the EFCC, due to long-standing corruption, unfulfilled promises, and incompetence. This distrust is deep and widespread.

We also demand for transparency regarding funds allocated to INEC for real-time electronic transmission of election results. Nigerians deserve to know why manual vote counting persists despite significant financial investment.

If meaningful reforms cannot be delivered, we respectfully ask President Tinubu to consider resignation, just as the UK Prime Minister recently did over corruption allegations. Leadership must be accountable.

We urge the United States, the European Union, and the international community to demand Nigeria to adopt transparent, modern electoral systems. However, respectfully we do not ask for foreign interference in our democracy. No nation is perfect, and Nigeria must take responsibility for its own progress.

Nigerians are demanding serious governance. If leaders cannot deliver, they should step aside and allow capable individuals to rebuild the nation with all due respect sirs/madams we do not mean no disrespect 240 million Nigerians are tired of the lies/fake slogans for decades
