🚨 BREAKING: Atiku Slams Tinubu's Government as 'One of the Most Fiscally Reckless in Nigeria's History'

Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar has launched a fresh attack on President Bola Ahmed Tinubu's administration, describing it as "one of the most fiscally reckless governments in Nigeria's democratic history."

Atiku's statement follows reports alleging that the 2026 Appropriation Act contains about ₦210 billion in duplicated and overlapping budget allocations. He argued that such alleged irregularities point to weak fiscal discipline and poor management of public funds.

According to Atiku, the alleged duplication raises serious concerns about transparency and accountability in government spending. He called on the National Assembly to identify and expose officials responsible for the reported budget discrepancies and urged anti-corruption agencies to carry out an independent forensic investigation into the budget.

The former presidential candidate also claimed that Nigeria's economic challenges—including rising hardship and declining prosperity—reflect what he described as reckless fiscal management by the current administration.

The Federal Government has previously defended its economic reforms, maintaining that they are necessary to stabilize the economy and deliver long-term growth despite short-term hardship.
