IF A PASTOR APOLOGIZES FOR PAST ERRORS, DON'T MOCK HIM—RESPECT HIS GROWTH!

One of the biggest signs of spiritual maturity is not how loudly a preacher speaks or how many followers he has. It is the humility to say, "I was wrong."

Sadly, many people celebrate ministers who stubbornly defend error, but attack those who have the courage to correct themselves. That mindset is dangerous.

The evidence of growth is not that you never make mistakes. The evidence of growth is that when the truth of God's Word corrects you, you change. You abandon error, acknowledge it, and move forward.

The Bible says:

When I was a child, I spoke as a child... but when I became a man, I put away childish things. (1 Corinthians 13:11)

And again:

Grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. (2 Peter 3:18)

Growth means leaving behind what is wrong when Scripture shines its light on it.

This is why I appreciate Pastor Benny Hinn's courage in publicly acknowledging that some of his past prophecy, teachings and practices needed correction. Whether you agree with every conclusion he has reached or not, it takes humility to admit mistakes before the world. That deserves thoughtful consideration, not ridicule.

The church does not need more ministers who protect their image at all costs. It needs ministers who love the truth more than their reputation.

Pride says, "I can never be wrong."

Humility says, "If God's Word shows me I am wrong, I will change."

That is the heart of true discipleship.

So before you mock someone for apologizing, ask yourself this:

If Scripture showed that something you have believed or practiced for years was wrong, would you have the courage to admit it publicly?

Truth is greater than tradition. Scripture is greater than reputation. And humility is greater than pride.
