HIFU: Nearly 1,000 Fibroid Patients In Nigeria Have Been Treated Using This Procedure - Ajayi

In Nigeria, we have treated 965 patients with HIFU and are closing in on the 1,000 mark. Across Africa, HIFU is currently available in five countries. It was first introduced in South Africa, followed by Egypt, Nigeria, and later Kenya, with access continuing to expand. One of the biggest challenges is changing long-held beliefs. Many people still think every fibroid must be removed, but that is no longer the case. We now know that not every fibroid requires treatment, as it depends on the patient’s condition and symptoms.
