Under governor Alex Otti's watch, Aba has been transformed into one of the best-powered cities in Nigeria today while the rest of the state is catching up. The electricity is produced by gas turbines.

While the citizenry are excited about this, he recently expressed delight over a proposed $145 million solar manufacturing plant in the state, describing the investment as a major boost to industrialization, job creation and economic growth.

I wouldn't be surprised if tomorrow he announces further electricity generation via hydro, wind, coal, biomass or even nuclear.

For context, South Africa generates the most electricity in Africa by a wide margin (around 25%+ of the continent's total output). It has an installed capacity of about 60 gigawatts (GW). Sources include:
Coal (about 80%), Nuclear, Hydropower, Wind and Solar.

With Alex Otti, transformation of Abia into a world class state is possible.
